DNA TESTING PROCESS

ABCA have made the following changes to the DNA Testing Process to implement an effective and efficient process.

By implementing these changes, the DNA testing process can become more efficient -

  • resulting in quicker sample arrival at the lab
  • reduced risk of sample damage
  • minimized discrepancies
  • ultimately benefiting the members and enhancing overall experience

Members are asked to adhere to the following process when submitting requests for DNA testing.

ALL animals MUST BE REGISTERED on the ABCA system BEFORE DNA is submitted

1.   Collect your samples

2.  Download DNA Request Form

Download the most up-to-date version of the DNA Request Form each time you request a DNA test.

DNA REQUEST FORM

3.   Complete and Email DNA Request Form to office@brangus.com.au

When the ABCA receives your DNA Request Form, our Members Services Officer (MSO) will check the details offering any advice to you needed in order to complete the form correctly.

4.  ABCA submits DNA Request Form to lab

ABCA will load your completed DNA Request Form into our system and submit it to the lab for processing.

The ABCA will invoice you for this testing.

5.  You are emailed an Acknowledgement Letter once form is submitted

You are emailed an Acknowledgement Letter with a batch numbers identifier when the DNA Request Form has been submitted to the lab.

6.  Print and Post Acknowledgement Letter with samples to the lab

NEOGEN AUSTRALASIA

14 HUME DRIVE, BUNDAMBA QLD 4304

If you are submitting 'DONE' samples (those already stored at the lab), you do not have to print this letter and send to the lab.  The paperwork sent from the ABCA to the lab will begin your testing process.

7.   Lab sends results to ABCA once testing is complete

A report is emailed to the member once results are loaded to ABCA system.

It is the Members responsibility to CHECK THE REPORT THOROUGHLY
and notify the ABCA of any discrepancies  eg. failied PV
