With Beef 2021 finally being given the green light and preparations for the biggest event on the beef cattle calendar beginning in earnest, BEEF have provided some important dates for those wishing to show cattle at the event. 

The ABCA have also taken the initiative to ensure the same integrity and standards that apply to our sales extend to the show ring. With that, all Brangus shown (excluding those in calf classes) are required to have the Brangus Bundle DNA test completed prior to the inspections done on ground at BEEF 2021.

• 14 December | Nominations Open
• 12 February | Nomination Close
• 12 March | Substitutions, Withdrawals & Late Entries Close
• 26 April | Junior Events Close
• 1-2 May | Inspections, Weigh-In & Scanning
• 3 May | Junior Events
• 4-6 May | Led Steer & Stud Cattle Judging
• 7 May | Young Judges Competition

Important Society Information

• The Brangus Bundle includes the following tests; 100K SNP, Parent Verification (where possible), Poll/Horn, Coat Colour & Tenderness
• Testing takes 6-8 weeks
• Samples must be provided using Neogen Australasia approved hair cards or TSUs (these can be purchased from the ABCA office)
• The samples and requests MUST be sent to the ABCA office, samples sent directly to Neogen will not be honored by the ABCA
