Dear Breed Societies

 

Don’t miss out on taking part in the largest showing of stud beef in the southern hemisphere, with entries into the 2016 Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) Stud Beef Cattle Competition now open.

 

This year Stud Beef judging will utilise pocket cards, with neck crescents now phased out. There has also been a change to the Stud & Hoof & Hook Competition, with prizes now awarded for Large and Small Breeds.

 

Also please note the Stud Beef Young Judges and Stud Beef Paraders will now take place on Saturday 6th August on the No.1 Oval.

 

From Angus to South Devon, more than 1,000 head of cattle are expected to descend on the showgrounds during Ekka for the Stud Beef Cattle Competition -  so make sure you enter now!

Important Dates to Remember:

 

Applications to enter close:                         Friday 3 June 2016

Substitutions closing date:                         Friday 24 June 2016

Accommodation/Stalling request close:      Friday 15 July 2016

Judging:                                                    Thursday 4 & Friday 5 August 2016

Cottones Discount Feed Shed will again be operational this year and will offer discounts for early orders. Contact details are included under General Regulations in the Competition Schedule.
