Dear Brangus Enthusiasts,

The Brangus Carcass Competition will run again in early March 2019.  The steers are judged on weight gain and carcass eating ability and the competition has been a great success in previous years. The Brangus prime cuts have been available at the Bracken Ridge Tavern in Brisbane, Keppel Bay Sailing Club in Yeppoon & The Rocky Sports Club in Rockhampton during Brangus Month (August).  All reports received by the Brangus Carcass Committee have been positive.

Here is your chance to be part of something big and support our Breed!

There are 2 classes for entry -

•           Class A – Brangus Purebred Steers
•           Class B – Brangus Crossbred Steers*
*Brangus Cross Steers must be either by a Brangus Bull or out of a Brangus Cow.

Entries will include 7 steers with your best 6 carcasses being judged.

There will be a Field Day held at Waterfall Feedlot on Wednesday 19th June 2019.

Due to work place health and safety this will be the only time you will be able to view the cattle unless arranged with Waterfall Feedlot or the ABCA Carcass Competition Committee.

To make the competition run as smoothly as possible, Terry Nolan will purchase the steers on entry to the feedlot. A price will be quoted 2 weeks before delivery to the Waterfall Feedlot, Goomeri, QLD.  Steers will be killed at Nolan’s Meats, Gympie.

Winners will be announced at the Awards Dinner which will be held on Wednesday, 7th August 2019 at the Bracken Ridge Tavern, Brisbane.

Please give careful consideration of the Steers you enter as it is a competition and we are looking for the very best to promote your cattle or your stud.
