Executive Officers Hours

Members please be advised as from 6th February 2017. Executive Officer (Natalie Herd) wishes to inform members due to commitments with a young family I have changed my hours and they are:

Still Monday to Wednesday from 9am to 4.30pm

Outside these hours the phone will be forwarded onto the Brangus Registrar who’s times and days haven’t changed.


 Brangus 2017 Carcass Competition

A reminder that entries for the 2017 Brangus Carcass Competition close at 5pm this Friday, 17th February.

All entries into the 2017 Brangus Carcass competition will also be eligible for entry in the 2018 Beef Australia National Carcass Competition. 

Further details on the 2018 Beef Australia National Carcass Competition will be released closer to the date.  Early indicators suggest that the format of the 2018 Carcass Competition will be the same or similar to the 2015 Competition.

Brangus Feature Show - Emerald

We now can advise Members that a Brangus Feature show will take place in

Emerald (QLD) on the 6th & 7th June 2017.

Details to be advised when finalised but members should keep those dates available.

Farm Expo – Expressions of Interest

Members would have received an email in December 2016 and it was also posted on the Brangus Website under latest news that Australian Events are holding a 2017 Farm Fantastic Expo in Caboolture showgrounds on 30th June – 2nd July. The ABCA board have looked into the site prices and sizes and after their last committee meeting it was decided that an expression of Interest goes out to the Members asking if there is anyone who would be interest in being at the site. If any Member is Interested in being at the ABCA site could you please contact the office on 02 6773 3373


 Field Days 2017

The Australian Brangus Cattle Association would like to remind it Members of the following field days for 2017:

Farmfest Darling Downs (Toowoomba QLD) – 6th – 8th June

Primex (Casino NSW) – 15th – 17th June

Ag Grow (Emerald QLD – 6th – 8th July

Ag-Quip  (Gunnedah NSW) – 22nd – 24th August


Zone Field Days / Social Gathering

The ABCA board would like to encourage the members of each Zone to participate in hosting an on property Field day / social gathering to allow members and Brangus enthusiasts to come together on a social platform and allow interested persons to see firsthand the benefits of our wonderful breed.

Interested participants are encouraged to contact the ABCA office or their Zone representatives advising their interest as well as a possible date to assist in the planning phase.


The ABCA committee are committed to supporting the host stud or commercial cattle operation in any way to ensure the day is a success and would anticipate that an informal meeting could be had on the day with the members to discuss any issues or new marketing / promotion opportunities that they would like the Board to consider.    

Alex McDonald ABRI Extensions Support is onside with the ABCA to offer technical support where possible at these field days.

Beef Australia 2018 

The ABCA are now seeking the expressions of Interest from the members who are wishing to be involved with the Upcoming Beef 2018 (6th – 12th May). The Brangus breed achieved a great deal of publicity and success with the Beef 2015.


If you are interested in obtaining a site and being aligned within a combined Brangus compound please contact Natalie at the ABCA Office to register your interest. We would also welcome ideas on how we can better promote Brangus at Beef Australia.



World Congress 2018

The ABCA would like to inform Members that the World Congress for 2018 is in USA, Houston Texas in  March 2018. If there are members who are considering attending can you please advise the ABCA office so your name can be recorded and made available to other members who are also considering attending. This will enable Members attending to communicate with one another and co-ordinate their travel plans if they so desire. The Association is also trying to organise a USA tour. World Congress ( and, Pre WBC tour 21 – 26 Feb. World Brangus Congress (WBC) is 27 Feb to 3 March. Post WBC 3 – 8 March 2018)


Further updates are expected to be provided in early April following the 2018 World Congress agenda and activities Preview which will be presented at the FIBRA committee meeting in Houston Texas on Thursday 9th March 2017.
