Dear Brangus Breeders,
 
The 2024 Rockhampton Brangus Sale will be held Monday 14th & Tuesday 15th October 2024.


To provide an equitable and fair system for nominations the Sale Committee invites members to indicate by way of Expression of Interest, the number of bulls and females they intend to nominate for the 2024 Rockhampton Brangus Sale.

Expressions of Interest close midnight, Friday 19th May 2024.
 
This information will be only a guide for the Committee and will no way be binding on any member.
Sale Nomination Forms will be made available from 9am Monday, 1st July 2024. Please be advised the cut-off date for the Sale Entries is midnight, Sunday 14th July 2024.


 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Brangus Bundles must be completed on ALL registered animals (including supplementary animals) before close of entry.  Nominations will not be accepted unless the Brangus Bundle has been completed.

  • All animals being sold must have a minimum condition score of 3

  • Herd bulls being sold will only have one line of pedigree in the sale catalogue

  • All registered bulls require a Motility (crush side) Semen result of over 60% within 10 weeks of the sale.

  • All bulls require a minimum Qualifying Pass Morphology result within 10 weeks of the sale.

  • Heifer Sale will start at 4pm Monday, 14th October.
    Commercial heifers will be sold first and will be followed directly by Registered heifers

  • Scanning and weighing will be done on Sunday, 13th October at CQLX

  • Dentition is no longer a requirement but will be included on the Supplementary Sheet if provided

  • Black and red bulls will be sold throughout the catalogue and not split

DNA TESTING PROCESS ABCA have made the following changes to the DNA Testing Process to implement an effective and efficient process. By implementing these changes, the DNA testing process can become more efficient - resulting in quicker sample arrival at the lab reduced risk of sample damage minimized discrepancies ultimately benefiting the members and enhancing overall experience Members are asked to adhere to the following process when submitting requests for DNA testing.
